Born and raised in Georgia, Liz has always felt a calling to help others. This calling began with inspiration from her grandmother. Liz has always looked up to her grandmother who raised nine children and worked as a social worker. Her grandmother had a kind spirit and compassionate heart which has inspired Liz to help others. This calling led her to Berry College where she studied Child and Family Development. Newly graduated and hoping to make a difference, Liz began her career working for the Department of Family and Children Services. Desiring a greater impact, Liz returned to school and earned her Masters of Education in Counseling from the University of West Georgia. Being a School Counselor was always how Liz pictured herself helping children, but God had different plans. When jobs were cut, Liz found herself lost and looking for God’s peace and provision. Through abundant prayer, she found herself turning to Tapestry where God has provided an outlet for her to help others find healing and purpose in life.
Liz loves working with children and teens because they always surprise her. Whether it is with the new perspective on life that they bring - or their grit, determination, and resiliency - children and teens are a breath of fresh air for Liz.
While studying at Berry College, Liz met her husband. They were married after graduation and share two beautiful children. In her spare time, Liz enjoys spending time with her family outdoors, working on DIY home projects and baking up yummy treats. Having her own children has helped Liz see how her many years of theoretical study play out in reality.
